The Data Center Engineering team takes the physical design of our data centers into the future. Our lab mirrors a research and development department -- cutting-edge strategies are born, tested and tested again. Along with a team of great minds, you tackle complex topics like how we use power or how to run state-of-the-art, environmentally-friendly facilities. You're a visionary who optimizes for efficiencies and never stops seeking improvements -- even small changes that can make a huge impact. You generate ideas, communicate recommendations to senior-level executives and drive implementation alongside facilities technicians. You analyze and design improvements on engineering systems projects (e.g., cooling, electrical). You are a highly motivated Electrical Engineer who wants to develop skills in the design, construction, commissioning and operation of complex and mission critical data centre facilities. Excellent communication skills, the ability to work in teams or individually, with minimal supervision are essential in order to be able to develop engineering skills such that you will be able to provide project design and field engineering support, coordination of project implementation and participate in all phases of a project life cycle. You will be involved in major projects from green field design and construction to modification and operations support of existing infrastructures across Europe. You will learn to provide and prepare engineering documents including SOW, TCO analysis, drawing markup, budget, schedule, final startup/commissioning reports, and review and acceptance of as-builts and submittals. Responsibilities - Collaborate with core team to develop the DC electrical designs right through all phases of the design and construction processes for new DC projects and for major infrastructure upgrades. - Work with external consultants and internal partners to convert system level schematics into detailed designs that ensure local requirements are met. - Own and manage all site level power system issues during project execution and operation phases, and identify and resolve issues with the cross functional teams. - Take responsibility for the performance and quality of all site projects. - Work with the Site Operations teams and other engineering colleagues to analyse and improve electrical systems performance, reliability and capacity as required to ensure the facilities run optimally. Minimum qualifications - BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience. Preferred qualifications - Willing to travel 30% of the time, including travel to US and within Europe.
