As a data architect at Melexis, you will be responsible for coordination, collaboration and contribution to all things on data architecture, as well as data related projects. With a big, global high-tech playground to run around in, you will be a key strategic player in developing data architecture in Melexis

More specifically, you will

  •  

    Coordinate​

  • ​Outline a long-term vision on data architecture, data quality and master data management, business intelligence & data analytics while keeping in mind business processes, existing tools and platforms
  • Keep track of existing data architecture, and present your own ideas for new performant, healthy and future proof data architecture (operational / BI / analytics)
  • Guide the organization on new trends, standards and best practices in data modelling / management / reporting / analytics
  • Clarify roles, responsibilities and governance with respect to the further evolution of data management, quality and consistency. ​
  • Collaborate (with data stewards, business & IT architects)​​
  • Design advanced conceptual, logical and physical data organizations, models, repository, dashboards, reports within a complete functional and technical architecture
  • Be in charge of the management and planning for a virtual team of data stewards working on day to day improvements of data quality and consistency within the organization
  • Coach data stewards to achieve higher data quality and consistency
  • Collaborate with business and IT architects to establish a closed loop between process, application and data​
  • Actively contribute to key projects
  • ​Work on data architecture projects with our project managers to define, challenge and prioritize client requirements
  • Be the point of contact for business and IT architects on complex data architecture topics
  • Execute quality checks when needed to control and correct different issues within projects.

YOUR PROFILE

  • You have a university education with at least 2 years in a similar role (or equivalent by experience)
  • Hands on experience with master data management processes and governance, as well as advanced knowledge and working experience with data warehouse dimension modelling
  • Practical knowledge and experience with at least one leading BI tool (eg Oracle BI, Tableau, Power BI, QlikView)
  • Experience in the following would be a plus: ETL & streaming tools, visualization and reporting tools (Big Data / Hadoop etc), enterprise repository tools, data mapping / modelling / profiling tools
  • You in general have a good understanding of the technology ecosystem, and are passionate about latest market trends
  • You are a passionate person, who is results, customer and quality oriented
  • You have excellent communication skills in English
