The Centre Manager is responsible for the leadership of the Centre’s operations including managing the Centre staff, student discipline, student welfare, and financials. In addition, that the day-to -day operations of the centre run smoothly while overseeing the running of the activity programmes. 

Successful CMs are expected to demonstrate effective communication and administrative skills, leadership, flexibility, strong organizational skills, and the ability to be sensitive to the needs of international students. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of students for who you are responsible and with whom you come into contact 
  • Managing, leading, and inspiring a team of colleagues dedicated to students’ development and welfare 
  • Maximising students and group leaders' satisfaction by ensuring their experience meets or exceeds their expectations 
  • Ensuring the centre operates to the highest standards of relevant Health & Safety, safeguarding, HR practices 
  • Ensuring the programme runs within the pre-determined budgets & take responsibility for the submission of all administration 
  • To oversee staff performance and behaviour and ensure that staff demonstrate and adhere to safe and healthy working practices at all times 
  • To conduct meeting and inductions for students and Group leaders 
  • To review or complete accurate occupancy and accounting administration 
  • To liaise with the Recruitment Team to ensure they are aware of day-to-day staffing requirements
  • To support the Activity Management team, the Welfare & Accommodation Team
  • To manage, complete and update staff rotas consistent with actual working hours to inform payroll within the deadlines set by the Operations Manager
  • To complete or review accurate rooming and allocation plans 
  • To oversee student arrivals and departures procedures are in place and adhered to 
  • To manage the third parties’ relationship and create a positive relationship
Job requirements

Organisational Compliance: The job holder will be expected to operate in accordance with the company’s Code of Conduct, and any local policies and operating procedures relating to academic, welfare and safeguarding matters. 

Employees are required to cooperate fully with all arrangements in place related to Health and Safety which include implementation and compliance with control measures resultant from risk assessments and engagement with, and completion of, any relevant Health and Safety training.

Education Required

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent/or working towards • Valid First Aid Certificate (Desirable) 
  • Safeguarding Level 1 and 2 (Desirable – if not in possession, Embassy Summer will provide the necessary courses upon successful selection)

    Experience Required

  • Management experience in junior education / learning 
  • Experience working with juniors 
  • Experience leading a team 
  • Experience in a role involving organisation / logistics / travel 
  • A high degree of IT competency - Outlook & MS Office (specifically Excel) 

    Experience Desired: 

  • Management experience in a summer school environment 
  • Managing multiple departments and teams 
  • Knowledge of Malta

    Working Week

  • 6 days* out of 7 (1 day off per week) 
  • All management roles are residential * Maximum weekly hours will be detailed in the Offer Letter
Benefits

Our competitive Management weekly pay, inclusive of accommodation, will be based on the size of the centre and experience. 

We will discuss this with you at the time of your interview. Accommodation is provided from the night before your first working day until the night of your last working day.
