We’re looking for experienced Big Data professionals to join our European team who have end to end experience of at least one Big Data project using Hadoop, Map Reduce or NoSql technologies.



You’ll provide advisory and implementation expertise to our clients including: use case and business case development; proof of concept execution to prove the value of Big Data use cases; solution outline and design of a big data architecture; as well as supporting business development activities.



You’ll have deep experience across systems integration, information management business analytics and architecture. You’ll have worked in a data warehouse environment and be knowledgeable of existing and emerging data integration approaches.



The following is essential:

• Solution architecture experience in traditional information management

• Integration of Big Data to a traditional data architecture

• Data architecture experience of designing and developing logical data models

• Deep design experience with programming on high-scale or distributed systems (such as Hadoop)

• Implementation expertise with high performance distributed parallel file system storage technology such as GPFS, GFS, CloudStore, HDFS or similar



You’ll possess in-depth knowledge of the vendor landscape and technology assessment, for example Hadoop, Map Reduce, NoSQL, in addition to knowledge of IBM technologies. You’ll have an understanding of the storage options that are open to clients within the Big Data landscape and will have developed vendor relationships with organisations such as Cloudera, Hortonworks and MapR.



Hands-on experience with the Hadoop stack will be an advantage as will knowledge of analytical toolsets including SAS, SPSS and R. Ideally you’ll also have estimation and planning knowledge for sizing Big Data projects as well as commercial experience. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in Banking, Insurance, Telco, Retail, Chemical and Petroleum and Consumer Packaged goods.



This is an environment where networking and people skills are extremely important. You’ll need to display a talent for leading people and teams effectively and be comfortable working in onshore and offshore models.
