BESTSELLER - Backend Developer, Tech Buying

Joining BESTSELLER TECH, you help us build great products and contribute to the continuous development and optimization of our buying & vendor collaboration processes. We do this by balancing and supporting demands from our business, understanding, and challenging complex processes, and introducing modern technology and new ways of working.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
We are replacing our legacy ERP system, and we are looking for a colleague, who is genuinely excited by the opportunity to be the key in designing and building digital products that will be used every day by all BESTSELLER brands. You will be joining the TECH Buying team, where your responsibility will be to design and develop great solutions with all of us. As a team, we have end-to-end responsibility for the processes related to product development and buying across BESTSELLER.
More specifically, your tasks include:
- Delivering workable solutions to the business by translating software requirements into high code standards
- Ensuring proper maintenance and development of programs
- Writing of specifications, designing, building, testing, implementing and sometimes supporting applications using programming languages and development tools
- Documentation of coding practicing.
YOUR TEAM
You join a curious Scrum team of highly skilled colleagues who are always in search for new ways of creating value, while continually improving our existing solutions. The team consists of a Product Owner, a Scrum Master, a Digital Product Designer and the development team of Analysts and Frontend and Backend developers. We own BESTSELLER’s TECH solutions servicing the collaboration with our buyers and suppliers.

YOUR PROFILE
The right attitude will get you far in BESTSELLER TECH, but ideally, we are looking for someone who fits the following:
- +3 years of experience with Java 8 or higher, Spring Boot, REST, GraphQL and SQL
- experience working with Github, Kubernetes, Docker, DevOps and CI/CD tools
- object-oriented and organise your code in a logical structure to ensure optimal conditions for maintenance and reusability
- strong collaboration and communication skills
- experience building and maintaining relational databases
- know and think in microservices
- if you have also dabbled with Kafka and GCP, you’ll really get us going - but it’s not a requirement.
