At Bergen University College, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Civil and Land Use Planning it is a permanent positions as Associate Professor / Assistant Professor in Highway planning or Water and sewerage planning

Duties of the post
Teaching assignments, mentoring and professional development primarily in the 3 -year Bachelor's degree program in Civil Engineering and Land Consolidation. Other relevant tasks may be responsibilities related to coursing, contract research and research. The work will primarily be teaching and guidance in one or more of the following topics:
- Water and sewerage
- Highway planning
- Possible other teaching duties at the department
Candidate Requirements.
M.Sc. or equivalent, with professional qualifications within the specified area. For the Associate Professor it is a requirement that the candidate has doctorate or first competency. It is desirable to have relevant practice and teaching experience. Emphasis is made on academic, scientific and educational qualifications. It is desirable that the candidate in a good way will supplement the staff's professional skills. Personal qualities will be emphasized.

If the applicant does not have practical pedagogical knowledge - based on education or teaching and supervision - they will have to take courses in pedagogy within 2 years from the date of appointment.

Lecturing at Bergen University College is normally performed in Norwegian or Scandinavian languages. It is expected that foreign applicants will be able to teach in a Scandinavian language within 2 years from taking on the post

Salary
Associate Professor code 1011/1198, salary grade 57 - 77 of the Norwegian State Salary scale, gross NOK 473 400 to 696 600) NOK per year. Assistant Professor code 1008 salary grade 47 - 71 of the Norwegian State Salary scale, gross (NOK 401 400 to NOK 601 000) per year.
Two per cent of the salary will be deducted at source as an obligatory premium to the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.
