The Role

Genmab is looking for a highly motivated Associate Director in Alliance Management, who will be responsible for managing and optimizing the value of our global pharmaceutical and biotech alliances.

The individual will be responsible for ensuring management, communication, and smooth operations of our partner interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the governance of partnership agreements including supporting joint committees, launch of new partnerships, setting agendas, and ensuring team deliverables

  • Focus on partnerships such as early discovery, research and development or territory specific activities

  • Support the oversight of large global partnerships and manage project level activities in preparation for governance meetings and deliverables

  • Support the development of joint alliance vision, goals, and guiding principles through clear communication, decision-making and issue resolution

  • Help build and maintain long term relationships between Genmab and global partners through establishing and preserving the highest level of integrity, trust, and strong collaboration

  • Utilize tools such as Health Checks, onboarding training, optimization, and monitoring of events to support the collaboration

  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders, research, and compound development teams to ensure appropriate alliance management support for partnered programs

  • Thrive in hands-on versatile alliance project management when needed and applicable

  • Monitor all alliance related activities as assigned and lead joint teams in resolving issues regarding governance, effective communication, and role clarification. Including impasse resolution between partners when necessary

  • Drive communication and facilitate decision making for assigned collaborations by capturing local specific needs and challenges to be solved to the best interests for both global & local parties

  • Ensure joint strategy and decisions are implemented in alignment with alliance operating principles and product strategy & key strategic initiatives/tactical plans per local brand plan to obtain alignment from partners

  • Support tracking, communication and management of key milestones, financial transactions, and progress reports to assure compliance with stated plans

  • Communicate financial deviations and manage change control and decision making associated with any deviations on strategic or operational plans

  • Become our internal expert on partner companies by building in depth knowledge relevant partners, including company organization/leadership, strategies, financials, priorities, etc.

  • Participate in implementing strategic initiatives to enhance our alliance management capability to grow our reputation as a premier alliance partner   

  • Ensure that alliances are managed consistently, leveraging best practices and standard tools

  • Determine key success factors and metrics for measuring alliance health and success

 

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant drug development and/or commercialization experience in the pharmaceutical, life sciences or related industry

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, advanced degree (MBA/PhD) preferred

  • Professional certification in alliance management, project management, corporate training, or another relevant discipline preferred

  • Experience working in program or alliance management role within a global organization is required

  • Related prior participation in/leading of joint cross functional teams as part of an alliance or partnership is preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to lead, interact, focus, negotiate, and resolve conflict

  • Ability to create scenarios that address both Genmab and our partners fundamental business objectives as well as key underlying interests

  • Demonstrated attention to detail, confidentiality and excellence in project management and effectively managing multiple alliances/projects/priorities

  • Proficiency in PRM systems and advanced skills in Excel and MS Teams

  • This position requires approx. 15% travel activity meeting with our global partners and Genmab colleagues at the different locations
