Job offer description

About the workplace

Distriktsveterinärerna are the veterinary instance to ensure animal wellfare. Distriktsveterinärerna are a part of the Swedish Board of Agriculture, and are roughly translated to “Veterinarians of the District”.

With round-the-clock service, clinics all over the country, and unique knowledge of animal health, we contribute to animal health and safety. We work toward individuals, companies, and authorities and we offer services for emergency and preventive veterinary care, and disease control.

We stand for ethical veterinary care, we are committed and do the little extra for the customer or a colleague. We make a difference and create value in every customer meeting. With the animals and animal owners in focus, we work together to constantly improve ourselves and our way of working. Always with our feet on the ground and our hearts in the right place.

Welcome to Distriktsveterinärerna! Our clinics are located in about 80 locations in Sweden, from Tomelilla in the south to Kiruna in the north. About 500 licensed veterinarians, registered veterinary nurses, and animal caretakers work here. Our veterinarians are general practitioners but several of them also have specialist competence. Our broad organization gives you the opportunity to work with several different animal species, access to knowledgeable colleagues and a varied and interesting job.

Do you have a veterinary license from an EU/EEA country or Switzerland? Are you interested in moving to Sweden and learning Swedish? Then you may be just the person we’re looking for!

Work tasks

With us, you get the opportunity to work with several different animal species and no days are the same.

Our work is conducted both inside our clinics but also in “the field” when we visit our customers. Mostly those visits concern horses or farm animals.

Driving is a natural part of the job and you need to feel comfortable with it.

Our goal is to create a workplace where everyone thrives at work and thereby gets the right conditions to do a good job.

If you work with us, you will never be bored, we have a very stimulating and varied job.

Due to the round-the-clock service, we are prepared to work if necessary during nights and weekends. Schedule including this is part of the employment.

Qualifications

To work in our organization you have to have a Swedish veterinary license or a permit from the Swedish Board of Agriculture to work as a veterinarian. You also need a driving license and good knowledge of the Swedish language, both orally and in writing.

You who are applying for the position are independent, have a good ability to work together with others, are loyal, serviceminded, and show good judgment.

You thrive in an organization with quick changes, where we adapt and help each other to handle the situations that arise.
