Job offer description

Novo Nordisk A/S

Ballerup, 1 stilling

- Laboratory Technician

- Denmark - Måløv

What if you could help change the life of people with diabetes and related disorders by identifying and developing the best drug candidates of the future? Your chance to do so in an excellent working environment amongst highly engaged colleagues is here.

About the department

The Discovery ADME department is an area within Global Research, responsible for bioanalysis, metabolism, absorption, distribution and proteomics-based studies in the early discovery phase of our research projects. You will join a department of dedicated scientists, laboratory technicians, Postdocs and PhD students responsible for the development of novel and improved ideas for the treatment of diabetes and related disease states. We are located in a state-of-the-art R&D facility in the greater Copenhagen area

The Job

We offer an exciting and challenging job as absorption biology laboratory technician with good professional as well as personal development opportunities. You will find yourself in an inspiring and engaging environment, working closely together with highly qualified and motivated technicians and scientists in multidisciplinary teams.

Your primary responsibilities will be to perform ex vivo and in vitro absorption and binding studies. Specifically, you will carry out transport studies across excised tissue mounted in Ussing chambers and in cell-based models, and evaluate the binding of proteins/peptides to biological matrices (e.g., plasma), together with the corresponding sample analysis and data handling. The work will focus on characterising the absorption mechanisms and binding characteristics of novel peptides/proteins and thereby contribute to the selection process of lead candidates for clinical development.

Qualifications

You are trained as a laboratory technician and have solid experience with biological assays and methodologies including dissection and tissue excision, cell culturing, drug binding studies, immunostaining and data analysis. Preferably, you have hands-on experience with working with laboratory animals and are driven by the challenge of developing and establishing novel assays.

As a person you have a structured mind-set, are independent, curious, flexible, dynamic and innovative; you have a positive attitude to new ideas, tasks, and people. You are expected to understand English since this is the corporate language. Experience from a research setting is a clear advantage.

Global Research is an organisation with many international employees and we welcome non-local applicants. The Global Research Unit consists of approx. 1.500 highly qualified people who conduct world class research from sites based in the Greater Copenhagen area, Beijing and Seattle. In Global Research we use our skills, dedication and ambition to help people with chronic diseases, and change their lives.

At Novo Nordisk, your skills, dedication and ambition help us change lives for the better. In exchange, we offer you an opportunity to work with extraordinary talent and benefit from a range of possibilities for professional and personal development.
