More than 3200 jobseekers from across the EU/EEA logged on to the new European Job Days website to participate in the Engineers Mobility Days organised the past 11th and 12th April 2013 by EURES Portugal and ISEL Students’ Association. 35 companies, looking to recruit Engineers and IT professionals to more than 540 jobs, took part in the event online and onsite. EURES Advisers from 9 countries - Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Norway, Portugal, Sweden and the UK - were also on hand to offer advice and support to jobseekers, including up-to-date labour market information in the Engineering and IT segment.
A full programme
This event was targeted at both experienced and graduate Engineering and IT professionals. Besides stand exhibition, interviews with employers were held both online and onsite. There was also a comprehensive programme of almost 40 presentations from engineering and IT European employers as well as workshops on living and working in participating European countries, which were broadcasted live on the website during the event.
More than 6000 unique viewers visited the site over the two days and nearly 3000 followed the live streaming programme.
Catch up on what happened
Employers at the Engineers Mobility Days were impressed with the standard of applications and are currently reviewing CVs. Besides interviews held during both days, suitable candidates might still be contacted directly, in the next couple of months, for follow-up interviews.
In the meantime, the presentations used during the living and working workshops, as well as some company presentations, can be downloaded from the Engineers Mobility Days website, where you can also watch recordings of all the live-streamed sessions.
Also up-to-date information on engineering and IT shortages / recruitment needs in each of the participating countries will be maintained online for the next couple of months.
