Startup Portugal is a non-profit organization, holding the Statute of Public Utility (conferred by Decree-Law 33/2019 of March 4th), whose mission is the development of activities of public interest for the promotion of entrepreneurship, in close connection with public and private entities operating in the national entrepreneurship ecosystem

 

We aim to support the Government in the creation and implementation of the National Strategy for Entrepreneurship, monitor the design and implementation of public policies to support entrepreneurship, promote entrepreneurship and Portuguese startups in national and foreign territories, seek and implement European funding aimed at boosting the entrepreneurial fabric, among other activities.

 

Our activity is developed with different economic sectors, using the support of various entities and partners, public and private, including entrepreneurs, startups, incubators, investors, companies, academia, and governmental organizations, for the development of different initiatives that contribute to the growth of the startup ecosystem and a greater culture of entrepreneurship in the country. It is also a founding member of ESNA - Europe Startup Nations Alliance.

One Stop Shop - Balcão do Empreendedor
The place where you get all the information you need to set up operations in Portugal. Designed to assist entrepreneurs and investors, it provides online and offline support on a one-to-one basis. - https://startupportugal.com/one-stop-shop/

 

Road 2 Web Summit 

A joint initiative by Startup Portugal and Web Summit to select the best young startups to represent Portugal at the biggest tech event in the world, Web Summit, scheduled for November 13th to 16th in Lisbon.

 

Vouchers for Startups - New Green and Digital Products

A financial support for startups with projects within the green and digital areas, in the amount of 30 thousand euros per startup.

 

Vouchers for Incubators and Accelerators
A financial support measure, in the amounts of €30,000 to €150,000, which seeks to create conditions for incubators and accelerators to invest in their human and technological development to better support their incubated startups.

 

Startup Visa 

Provided through IAPMEI, it is a residence visa for entrepreneurs, which aims to attract investment, talent, and capacity for innovation to Portugal.

 

Tech Visa

A certification program addressed to companies that wish to attract highly qualified and specialized staff to Portugal, nationals from countries not included in the Schengen area. This program, made available by IAPMEI, aims to ensure that highly qualified workers can access jobs created by Portuguese incorporated companies or startups, in a simplified way.

 

Business Abroad 

A program that aims to ensure and support the presence of Portuguese startups in major international events, thus creating a more significant impact on representations abroad and thus allowing them to coordinate their communications with the foreign and national press and with the local media. The call for the 2023's first semester Business Abroad delegations is now open for the following markets - Brazil (Web Summit Rio), Spain (South Summit, Madrid), France (VivaTechnology, Paris) and Canada (Collision, Toronto).
