We are looking for an experienced Project Control Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, monitoring, and controlling all aspects of the project lifecycle, ensuring that projects are executed on time, within scope, and budget. The Project Control Engineer will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and cost controllers to ensure accurate progress tracking and efficient resource management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using software like Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Work with project teams to define the scope, deliverables, and key milestones.
- Create Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and integrate all project activities into the master schedule.
- Progress Monitoring and Control:
- Track and monitor project performance to ensure that all activities are aligned with the project schedule and objectives.
- Analyze project progress and identify any deviations from the planned schedule.
- Update project schedules regularly to reflect actual progress and adjust forecasts as necessary.
- Cost Management and Reporting:
- Collaborate with cost control teams to ensure that project costs are being monitored and controlled efficiently.
- Track project expenditures, ensuring they remain within the allocated budget.
- Prepare and present regular reports on project status, cost performance, and progress against key milestones.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project timelines or budgets.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation plans in collaboration with project managers and stakeholders.
- Ensure contingency plans are in place to address any unexpected challenges.
- Resource Management:
- Plan and allocate resources (personnel, equipment, materials) to ensure project efficiency and timely completion.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure smooth execution of the project.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other key stakeholders to ensure proper alignment between project objectives and control mechanisms.
- Facilitate regular meetings to discuss project status, progress, and any required adjustments to the plan.
- Maintain open lines of communication between project teams, vendors, and clients.
- Change Management:
- Manage any changes in project scope or schedule, ensuring proper documentation and approval processes are followed.
- Update schedules, budgets, and reports to reflect any approved changes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project planning, scheduling, and control.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) & Excel
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and frameworks (e.g., earned value management, critical path method).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience in the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical sectors, and EPC projects.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or a similar qualification is an advantage.
- Familiarity with cost control and risk management processes.
- People management skills.
