Job offer description

Do you want to help develop our open container-based product Synergy? And would you like to work with the latest and smartest cutting-edge technologies? Then you might be just the person we’re looking for!

About the position

As our new Senior Systems Engineer, you will be working with our product ‘Synergy’.

Synergy is an application-platform which Systematic projects are built on top of, and which thereby makes it possible to reuse logging mechanisms, surveillance and other shared components. It is based on the latest container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud etc. You can read more about the product here: https://systematic.com/en-gb/industries/digitalisation/digital-transformation/integration-solutions/synergy/

The job is based at our very modern and attractive offices in Aarhus, and falls under Systematic’s Digital Transformation business unit. In the position as Senior Systems Engineer, you will join a well-established team comprising approx. 11 highly skilled colleagues who collaborate closely to ensure high-quality products for Systematic’s customers. One half of the team is based in Denmark and the other half is in Poland, and we aim to have a good and strong employee culture in both countries where we can help and ask questions of each other. The good office culture benefits working together, but it is of course possible to work remotely in some situations. We see great value in having enough people on the team in both Denmark and Poland to collaborate and develop together at the same physical location. Happy and committed employees are our goal, and we expect to grow the team over the next month in both Denmark and Poland – while still planning to have global teams with Danes and Poles in all teams.

Responsibilities and tasks

The product team is responsible for the continued development, improvement and maintenance of Synergy. The product is deployed and running on several installations at customer sites and internally at Systematic. We are responsible for improving and maintaining the product, and new releases are shipped four times a year including new capabilities, bug fixes and other improvements.

The infrastructure is built as a modern container orchestration solution with customised extensions which are primarily implemented using Java. We are using the latest technologies within microservices, public cloud, Docker containers and Kubernetes. The solution will host and expose popular Cloud Native components.

Your daily tasks will involve:

  • Installing and configuring applications in Kubernetes using Helm
  • Troubleshooting and implementing functionality using various cloud native technologies and tools
  • Writing/modifying Helm chart templates
  • Determining the current state of applications in Kubernetes by means of shell scripting
  • Applying/modifying Kubernetes resources by means of shell scripting
