Our lab mirrors a research and development department -- cutting-edge strategies are born, tested and tested again. Along with a team of great minds, you tackle complex topics like how we use power or how to run state-of-the-art, environmentally-friendly facilities. You're a visionary who optimizes for efficiencies and never stops seeking improvements -- even small changes that can make a huge impact. You generate ideas, communicate recommendations to senior-level executives and drive implementation alongside facilities technicians.

You analyze and design improvements on engineering systems projects (e.g., cooling, electrical).

You are a highly motivated on-site Mechanical Engineer who wants to develop skills in the design, construction, commissioning and operation of complex and mission critical data centre facilities. You have excellent communication skills, the ability to work in teams or on one’s own with minimal supervision. You are able to provide project design and field engineering support, coordination of project implementation, and participate in all phases of a project life cycle.

You will be involved in major projects from green field design and construction to modification and operations support of existing infrastructures across Europe. You will learn to provide and prepare engineering documents including: SOW, TCO analysis, drawing markup, budget, schedule, final startup/commissioning reports, and review and acceptance of as-builts and submittals.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with core team to develop the data center mechanical cooling and utility designs right through all phases of the design and construction processes for new data center projects and for major infrastructure upgrades.
  • Support new technology insertions through collaboration with the core engineering team to identify requirements during the development of site specific designs.
  • Work with external consultants and internal partners to convert system level schematics into detailed designs that ensure local requirements are met.
  • Own and manage all site level mechanical system issues during project execution phase, identify and resolve issues with the cross functional teams.
  • Generate scope of work for major infrastructure upgrades based on project needs and work with internal teams on implementation. Responsible for the performance and quality of all site projects.

 

Minimum qualifications

  • BE/BS in Building Services Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Relevant work experience.
  • Travel Requirements (including travel to US and within Europe) 30% of the time.
