We are seeking a Traffic & Transport Engineer/ Modeller to join our dynamic consulting engineering firm at CS Consulting Headquarters in the heart of Dublin City Centre.

The roles will involve working on varied, challenging projects. These range from residential to multi-million-euro commercial developments.

The Role & Responsibilities for this position are:

  • Take full responsibility for fulfilling the traffic modelling requirements for development projects throughout Ireland;
  • Prepare Traffic Impact Assessments (TIA), Mobility Management Plans (MMP), Travel Plans, etc. for planning applications;
  • Design junctions, roundabouts, car parks, access to car parks and basements, etc.
  • Engage with and advise colleagues/ clients on parking ratios, bicycle, electric vehicle, shared vehicle requirements for developments; 
  • Engage with the Local Authority/ An Bord Pleanala as required;
  • Co-ordinate the development of all traffic & transport drawings and reports upholding high levels of quality contro;
  • Attend design team meetings / workshops;
  • Provide any other inputs on projects as may be required from time to time; and
  • Actively engage in CPD and route to Chartership;

Essential Skills/ Experience:

  1. Masters (or equivalent education plus experience) level education in Civil or Structural Engineering from a reputable institution;
  2. Chartered or eligible for chartership with Engineers Ireland or equivalent body;
  3. 3+ years’ experience traffic modelling with Picady, Arcady, Oscady and Transyt software (or similar);
  4. 3+ years’ experience preparing traffic reports (such as Traffic Impact Assessments (TIA), Mobility Management Plans (MMP), Travel Plans) and general transport design for planning;
  5. Detailed knowledge of Irish traffic and transport codes of practice and Local Authority requirements;
  6. Experience working in a civil & structural consulting engineering office;
  7. Effective communicator both in written and verbal form, capable of representing the firm in design team and client meetings;
  8. Excellent initiative and an eagerness to provide top level engineering services as part of a multi-functional team;
  9. Experience in Strategic Housing Development (SHD) planning applications (desirable but not essential); and
  10. Hold a valid drivers licence;
  11. Hold a valid visa for working full-time in Ireland.
