As Sous Chef are you our Head Chef's right hand. Together are you in charge of arranging and coordinating the kitchen's work. You will have the opportunity to create menus, recipes, place- and purchase lists with the Head Chef in preparation for future hospitality business. You will also evaluate the quality of incoming foods and items.

In short, you, along with the rest of the staff, ensure that our guests' expectations are exceeded in our restaurant as well as for business meetings, parties, and other gatherings,

You motivate your coworkers, serve as a role model, and are an effective trainer.

AS SOUS-CHEF YOU TAKE CARE OF YOUR TEAM AND DELICIOUS DISHES IN THE RESTAURANT.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

As a sous-chef at Van der Valk more than you might imagine is possible. You seize the opportunity to learn everything there is to know about our new hotel's kitchen. You and your coworkers will perform at your peak level each day. You demonstrate the meaning of hospitality to all of your coworkers , there you understand it better than anyone else. The main kitchen, the live cooking station, the private dining room, and the live cooking station at the banqueting halls are the four sites you are jointly responsible for within our hotel. You will inform and counsel the head chef while maintaining constant focus on the goals. Also:

• You do the daily ordering;
• You ensure that the kitchen, coolers, and warehouse are orderly and clean;
• Using your creativity to develop new menu;
• You monitor and control quality;
• You are responsible for the (pre)preparation of the dishes in the absence of the Head Chef;
• You have opportunities to develop yourself in order to grow further in your role;
• You have clear  communication skills, show leadership, and coaching abilities and understand how to enthuse and motivate the team;
• Oversee  health & safety compliance, and HACCP regulations.
