Can you help us control technical risks in mechanical wind turbine design? Join us and become Senior Mechanical Engineer in the WTG Mechanical department, which serves as technical specialists for blades, mechanics in hub and nacelle as well as tower and davit crane. The department contributes throughout our value chain from qualification of wind turbines suppliers over wind farm development and construction to service and maintenance. The department is part of Wind Power, which has 1400 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbines projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe. You may choose freely to be based either at our office in Skærbæk near Fredericia or in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area. However, you should expect some travelling in relation to your work. Areas of responsibility You are part of a team of 15 wind turbine mechanical specialists who work together on projects to support the business in a number of areas, including technical business risk analysis, specification and negotiation of technical requirements and qualification of suppliers and their products. Moreover, you conduct manufacturing surveillance during project execution. Further areas of responsibility for you and your team include analysis of operational statistics and root cause analysis on failed components and systems. Furthermore, your key duties will be to: collect information both internally and in external fora to analyse business risks and plan mitigating activities coordinate activities for WTG Mechanical in projects on qualification of new wind turbines, in asset projects and in service and maintenance projects support with specialist competence in the area of mechanical machine design for hub and nacelle manage a good collaboration with the suppliers. Your profile You have a bachelor or master's degree in mechanical engineering. In addition, you have extensive experience within mechanical machine components covering design load assessment, materials, manufacturing processes, degradation mechanisms and condition monitoring. Ideally, you have been engaged in large diameter bearing technology. Moreover, you have experience with system design of wind turbines or other large machines with rotating parts. You can drive technical and scientific projects from a business perspective and feel motivated when adding new areas to your technical competences. As a proactive project participant, you combine technical responsibility with scoping a project and driving results. Lastly, you communicate fluently in English. As a person, you have excellent analytical and communication skills and thrive on working in teams with many stakeholders. Paying attention to details and working with a dedicated and responsible approach, you focus on adding value and creating results.
